Tree in a bag

yuken teruya

One artist is transforming paper bags into miniature artworks of brilliance. The bags produced for the Olympics from fast food giant, McDonald has inspired artist Yuken Teruya to repackage our perception on the every day ordinary into exquisite beauty. In his latest work called “Notice-Forest: What victory tastes like/london”, he uses nothing but the bag and glue to resurrect the origins of it’s source back to life. The tree. In the center of each bag, Teruyas has delicately sculpted a tree. The question here is: Does the bag support the tree or does the strength of the tree support the bag? Included in this post are some of his earlier works where he has used upmarket department store bags. Absolutely gorgeous!

His work is currently showing at the 18th Biennale of Sydney til 16 September 2012.

  2. A return to the source – love these creations. You have inspired me to visit the exhibition. Thanks

  3. One of the best things about yoga is how easily it can be adapted to meet the needs of practically anyone willing to give it a try.
