Hope is so important when it feels like all is lost.

  2. Hope is an important part of our attitude, of our relationship to life itself, as is faith. But I find it difficult to think that it can answer the terrible threat on American society, posed by the many examples of random killing. On the other hand, I think it is too easy to blame the gun makers and sellers for the recent acts of murder and mayhem. It is not the tool that is guilty, but the people who use that tool. I worry about the culture that is exported from America to the rest of the world; what I see on TV, and in the movies, coming from the US. This radical and extreme violence is an insult to our sensitivities and a dangerous influence on the youth. I find it more disturbing and oppressive than pornography, but it seems to be accepted as a normal sort of entertainment.

    • Agree!
It’s like the layering of an onion… there are many issues that make the whole. The onion needs to be peeled with care before reaching the source… the seed! When we hold the seed in our reach the possibility of new growth is truly possible. Thank you for your input.
