Calling all spiritual folks: I need help!

Who in the world do you consider is a spiritual person. Maybe the Dalai Lama? or is it Amma… I would love to hear from you with a list of your most esteemed spiritual ‘living’ idols. I’m looking for a wide and diverse list. For my Aussie followers… I would be grateful for any local suggestions.

Big Gratitude!

    Pema Chodron

  2. I only really read Eckhart Tolle regularly and he is hardly local, sorry Angela.

  3. I love Lama Zopa Rinpoche of FPMT – his work for others is, literally, tireless. He had a stroke last year while teaching in Australia, but was completely unperturbed and simply spent his time in hospital praying for all the other patients. He is a legend!

  4. I could come up with only this, because there’s a need of authentic spiritual guru’s and that too the Living idols of spirituality in times today, i think Deepak chopra a spiritual guide and Eckhart tolle are living spiritual idols. But the best Spiritually enlightened ones are no more like Gautama Buddha, Jiddu krishamurti, Osho, Swami Vivekananda and others. Regards

  5. Maddy at 1Earth United, and Subhan Zein, and Kozo at Everyday Gurus. 3 separate and uniquely spiritual Bloggers…who each inspire me with their written words….

    • You are such a devotee of this group… beautiful to see. I hadn’t thought of covering bloggers but will keep them in mind if we take that angel. Very grateful for your valuable input.

  6. Deepak Chopra, Rumi, Tolkert. The Buddah, Jesus are just a few of my favorites

  7. Lakshmi Loves To Shop

My top contender is Sri Sakthi Amma in India. In Australia I think Swami Satyadharma Saraswati is one of the most spiritual individuals ~ she is a follower of Satyanada…hope this helps 🙂

  8. There are some great spiritual leaders about, but I think there are inspirational people everywhere. I found one tonight at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The show is called the Ray Charles Experience but it is just a vehicle to showcase the talents of Movin’ Melvin Brown who is an amazing entertainer. He writes on his CD – “Life begins with Love and if continued in that direction would serve us all very well, and the basis of all love is Self Love which involves taking care of ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually.” He spreads love and good health through tap dancing and also started the “I Love You Project”. Money from his tap workshops go to homeless people in Texas. What a beautiful soul who lives and breathes happiness in what he does.

  9. Hi Adriana, how are you? I would agree with both Eckhart Tolle and Deepak Chopra. There are definitely more, but I want to add that YOU are the most spiritual person in the world. All of mankind is spiritual, we all just express differently! Much Love, Sandy

    • Thank you sweet sister… I am doing well. Sandy, you’re a goddess and so beautiful to remind me that we’re all living a spiritual path. Yes, indeed you’re right, but my purpose here is to understand ‘who’ everyone else sees as being an esteemed spiritual being. much love to you my beautiful friend

  10. Jesus Christ, Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, and Dalai Lama.

I don’t like to use the word ‘idol’, but here are some living people who are as ‘enlightened’ as we humans are going to get, considering the soup we’re in! Haha! Gangaji is one woman you should look up. Adyashanti is down-to-earth and really knows his stuff. Jeff Foster is another. All should go on your list.

What an unusual project you seem to be on…

I’m trying to think. I live in Melbourne, Australia. Hmm….I don’t know 😦 I can’t help! I’m truly sorry. Not a one comes to mind.

But good luck with whatever it is you are on! 🙂

    • nice to hear from you beautiful one… hope all is as it needs to be in your life. One day soon I’ll share the purpose to all my questions. Blessings

I’d say anyone who shows kindness, clarity , compassion, love, generousity and has a sense of humour! …and who practises choosing to be conscious….

  14. Sweet, little Dolly Parton. She’s one of the most selfless people in this whole world, I am sure. 🙂

  15. The American poets, Charles Wright and Gary Snyder. Thich Nhat Hanh.

Hi Adriana, I’ve done a blog about crystals in order to promote a blogging friend’s book. If you like the look of it, I’d be grateful if you’d pass it on to those who’d like it, and who would re-blog. But ONLY if you like the look of it. Trying to promote the good things in the universe! Thanks! Here’s the link
