Yoga opens her vastness to us and
with hand to heart
lays a path to follow

Meditation can often seem like an impossible task and I usually hear people saying that there’s no way they can just sit still for very long. Well, that’s pretty true to form for all of us. It takes a long time of empowering the body through strength and flexibility before the body will be happy to just sit still for any length of time. If we look to the philosophy as outlined by Patanjali he lists a very practical and manageable list of how to facilitate the benefits of yoga. Patanjali tells us that yoga is about developing a state of mind that is capable of seeing itself. A quest for peace is very achievable. The path of yoga is not a quick fix short course of ever lasting healing. This path is about discipline and devotion to no one else but your self. Movement is an excellent start to begin conditioning the body into a state of balance. However, there are many more ‘bodies’ of the soul that need to be touched and moved before stillness and ultimately ‘peace’ can be deeply felt.

Patanjali’s list of ‘how to achieve’ a pure state of yoga put simply is: be good to yourself, be of service to those that are in need and recognize that which is greater than yourself, move and condition your body, breathe with awareness, focus, concentrate and just maybe you might have cleared all your ‘baggage’ out of the way to be able to be super clear… and in this state of clarity the capacity to open up is VAST (more on that another time).

I invite you to submerge yourself into a deeper layer of YOU.

Yama (How we conduct ourselves in life)
Niyama
(Self-discipline and spiritual observances)
Asana
(Movement. Poses. Liberty),
Pranayama (Breath. Deep and Expansive)
Pratyahara (Let go of what is not serving you)
Dharana & Dhyana (focused concentration)
Samadhi (Bliss. Peace. You, in your true form)

You may grow,
You may find healing.
and possibly be gripped by solid guidance back to your place of equilibrium.
